Obama seeks to soothe pro-Israel lobby
Added 614 days ago on June 5th, 2008
In his first speech as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Barack Obama pledged unwavering support for Israel, vowed to use military force - if necessary - to keep Iran in check, and endorsed the idea that any peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians must preserve Israel as a Jewish state with Jerusalem as its capital.
As president, "I will do everything in my power to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon," Obama told a standing-room-only crowd at a meeting of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a powerful grass-roots lobbying group. "Let there be no doubt: I will always keep the threat of military action on the table to defend our security and our ally Israel."
But Obama insisted that US military force is a last resort, only after every diplomatic avenue has been exhausted. And he defended his support for direct talks between the United States and Iran at the time and place of his choosing.

It's going to interesting to see how AIPAC will exert it's influence within the DNC now that Obama is making PAC money, sin money.

It is a tragedy for this country to have Obama as President of our nation.Through sexism and injustice of DNC our great nation has been robbed of Hillary, the most experienced and the most qualified . Neither Obama or McCain has the ability or knowledge to bring peace to the Middle East. Obama lacks the experience and McCain is interested in continuation of Bush's foreign policy( that has failed considerably ). Hillary has great leadership qualities. We are witnessing a sad period in the history of our great nation.

Obama scares me particularly relevant to the Mid-east and foreign policy matters. Many of the Arab nations have the entire world by the throat. Yet this junior Senator from Illinois was so sure, so arrogant of his ability to assume the most important job in the world that he did not bother to finish out one, single solitary term in preparation.

I fear Obama would be learning on the job. His arrogance frightens me.

He is unelectable without Hillary.

I disagree with McCain on many issues but at least I could sleep nights knowing an experienced leader was at the helm of the free world.
