Geithner won't rule out taxes will rise
Added 100 days ago on November 1st, 2009
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner acknowledges the federal budget deficit is too high, but that the priorities now are economic growth and job creation.Asked repeatedly on NBC's "Meet the Press" whether this means taxes will rise, Geithner avoided giving specifics. He did say President Barack Obama is committed to dealing with deficit in a way that will not add to the tax burden of people making less than $250,000 a year. The White House has not decided how to reduce the red ink, Geithner said in an interview broadcast Sunday. "Right now we're focused on getting growth back on track," he said. "And we're not at the point yet where we have to decide exactly what it's going to take."

People who don't actually know about his plans and the work done behind the scenes, people who don't know much about economics or the government, make a whole range of accusations about him and the admin that aren't really based on facts or knowledge of "the bigger picture."Posted by: yaja429

It is a fact that he is a tax cheat, that his ethical credibility is in question.Posted by: Mercedes

Mr. Spock is not a good role model for the country and to be head of the US Treasury. Obama put him there. When he speaks you ask yourself, "this is all the country had to offer? We don't have any more intelligent people left?" Thanks to all obama voters and ACORN fraud. Think again next time please. Hopefully continue to put a stop on ACORN so this doesn't happen again for many years. A new fraudulent group might come out in 100 years but for now, hopefully, Obama won't be re-elected.
