Military Should Be Exempt From Spending Cuts, Top Republicans Sayi.huffpost.com

huffingtonpost.com — It's time to add an asterisk to the Republican tenet that excessive government spending and debt are bad for growth and jobs. Unless it's government money for the military, the asterisk would say.

In recent weeks, Republican lawmakers have intensified their criticism of potential cuts to defense spending, departing from their budget-slashing script. In some cases, they have defended military spending as critical to the economic recovery.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) told The Huffington Post he believes military spending cuts would be bad for jobs. "There is abundant information that [there will be] layoffs of thousands … because we will have to cut weapons systems," he said.

"I think it would be devastating to the military-industrial complex," Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said. "You'd lose thousands of high-skilled jobs and undermine our national security."

After a recent Congressional Budget Office report said the automatic cuts to defense spending set to begin in January would be bad for the economy, Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) told Politico last week that he viewed military spending cuts as the wrong prescription for the economy.

No, but the lobbyists and the cronies should be shut out. I suspect that many of the relatives and cronies of our Congress Critters are making a fortune from our military budget. democRATs could care less as the majority of the military will not vote for them as they are aware of their anti-American stance in favor of the welfare class who will vote for them and their promise of the free stuff that our military personnel are paying for.

Understanding all this discrimination against conservatives is easy when you remember that...
Conservatives = adults (of any age)

Liberals = immature children (of any age)

The military budget has been cut every year and every year soldiers die. As long as Obama is sending people to war they need and deserve to have decent supplies and funding. If Obama wants to bring all the troops home, and I mean ALL, even those in occupied (by us, US) Germany and Japan, Africa, and the middle East - then the military budget can be cut. But Obama is too tickled pink about telling the military to target drones and send in assassins to give up his little wars that he promised to end years ago.

Obama is well on his way to beating out Jimmy Carter for worst President of all time. The private sector is doing just fine. Now he has to walk this statement back. Seems like the Marxist politicians are walking back statements every day now in their desperation to remain relevant and in power, but their day is fading. Communism does not sell to the majority of self reliant Americans, only to the leeches on society. Free and Topspin, you know who you are.
