Mom says Obama and Supremes just wrote her death sentence.

She has read many places that for people her age only comfort care will be given, not real health care and she will be left to die if she needs more than a pill. Mom is 80, teaches beginning computing twice a week at a local community center, teaches children at our place of worship, makes quilts for the poor and needy. She can easily walk a mile at a brisk pace, and because our health care is now out of the hands of Doctors and in the hands of faceless bureaucrats who don't know her she will be denied all but the most basic care.

Her father lived to be 93 and died falling from a ladder while painting a house, her Aunts and Uncles all lived to near 100 in their homes with their minds intact, her mother died in her late 80's and was alert and self sufficient until her sudden death. Her chance of being a productive citizen until her late 90's is high. But now Obama has guaranteed that she could die early and perhaps need a nursing home because she will be denied more than palliative care.

Her father had a non-cancerous stomach tumor removed in his mid 80's and went on to keep working on his properties and doing all the repair and maintenance himself. If Obamacare were in effect he would not have had his surgery and would have died prematurely.

Standard Hospital pricing procedure

In the hospital the relatives gathered in the waiting room, where a family member lay gravely ill. Finally, the doctor came in looking tired and somber. “I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news,” he said as he surveyed the worried faces. “The only hope left for your loved one at this time is a brain transplant. It's an experimental procedure, very risky, but it is the only hope. Insurance will cover the procedure, but you will have to pay for the BRAIN.”

The family members sat silent as they absorbed the news. After a time, someone asked, “How much will a brain cost?”

The doctor quickly responded, “$5,000 for a Democrat's brain; $200 for a Republican's brain.”

The moment turned awkward. Some of the Democrats actually had to 'try' to not smile, avoiding eye contact with the Republicans. A man unable to control his curiosity, finally blurted out the question everyone wanted to ask, “Why is the Democrats brain so much more than a Republicans brain?”

The doctor smiled at the childish innocence and explained to the entire group, “It's just standard pricing procedure. We have to price the Republicans' brains a lot lower because they're used.”
