dailycaller.com — At a small high school in a quaint Wisconsin town, students are learning geometry, chemistry and, of course, that white people have historically oppressed minorities and continue to do so in the present day.

The curriculum on “American Diversity” at Delavan-Darien High School allegedly teaches students that white skin confers a set of unfair privileges, the Daily Mail reports.

“There is not space here to list all the ways in which white privilege plays out in our lives, but it is clear that I will carry this privilege with me until the day white supremacy is erased from society,” declares University of Texas professor Robert Jensen Jensen in one paper assigned to students.

The ideas presented in the course come from a broader academic movement called critical race theory. According to Fox News, “white privilege” was defined in the class as a “set of advantages that are believed to be enjoyed by white people beyond those commonly experienced by non-white people in the same social, political, and economic spaces.”

Another assignment asked students to visit the toy aisle at the local Wal-Mart.

“They were told to go and count the number of dolls that were representative of blacks as opposed to whites,” said one parent, according to Fox News.

The anonymous parent reportedly became disturbed when she perused some of her 18-year-old son’s course material.

“I felt it was indoctrination,” she told Fox News. “This is a radical left agenda and ideology that is now embedded in our school.”

“If you’re white, you’re oppressing,” she added. “If you’re non white, you’ve been a victim.”

The incident was first reported by the conservative Young America’s Foundation’s New Guard blog, where Brendan Pringle wrote, “This course offers a snapshot of a larger trend that has plagued university curriculum for years and has only recently crept into high school classrooms.”

Delavan-Darien School District Superintendent Robert Crist admitted that the parent’s concern “has merit” and presented himself as the voice of moderation in the midst of the kerfuffle.

“A lot of red flags go up in my mind when I look at the materials,” Crist said, according to the Mail. “Ideally, you would want to present one theory that might be way on the left and another theory that may be way on the right and if you find one in the middle you can present that, too.”

Crist said that school officials are evaluating the course and it won’t be taught again until the review process is finished.

He also suggested that propaganda about white privilege can improve critical-thinking skills.

“There are a lot of radical people in our country and across the world,” he said, according to the Mail. “They need to be ideally attuned to some of the different thought patterns that different cultures may have.”

There always was and is discrimination and unfortunately always will be. Dr. Martin Luther King's dream did not come true, we are still judged by the color of our skin, not by the content of our character.
We still see racial, religious or political discrimination in out society. Women receive less pay than men for doing the same job, white criminals often get lighter sentences than black or Hispanic ones and Jews have to fight with more prejudices and abuses than Protestants.
There is a history of black oppression before - and even after - the Civil Rights Act, but the last couple of years have seen some much needed improvement, but sometimes even a reversal, a white discrimination. I am thinking of that girl who was unable to go to her first choice of university somewhere in Texas, because she was white. I am thinking of Obama who accused the Republicans in 2008 to play the race card, while he was the only one talking about the color of his skin. I am thinking of Spike Lee who accuses, among others, Tarantino of being a racist, while he himself uses racist language and ideas. And he as a black director exploited black actors by paying them just the union minimum for parts in his movies. You don't have to be white to oppress and discriminate and you don't have to be black to be a victim.

White people are more and more afraid to criticize black people, because they do not want to be seen as racists. On the other hand, some black people discriminate against white people. Discrimination is wrong, no matter what color your skin has.

"some black people discriminate against white people." Some? Try most. You forgot Hispanics too. Very few whites discriminate anymore. That is the job of blacks and hispanics now.

The black people I know are tolerant and friendly, just like the white people I personally know and call friends or acquaintances. I know that there is discrimination out there, but somehow, I do not move in these circles. Maybe you picked a bad neighborhood...

No. I grew up in a good (Mixed race) neighborhood. Everyone got along good. What happened in the past (Slavery) was terrible. It should have never happened and was a long time ago. But today, whites are being blamed for slavery. We had nothing to do with it today. I wasn't born then. The liberal loons in washington have been going on a antiwhite (racist) "rant" (One of your favorite words. :-) ) "It's all about the whites and how we are still keeping them down. Really? Blame Republicans? Really?? Republicans are the minority in washington but yet they are still holding a gun to the American people's head." These leftist morons are children and are playing childish games and need to grow up and have no business running a country.
