townhall.com — As Leah reported yesterday, the Colorado State House passed four new gun control laws Monday. During debate about legislation eliminating concealed carry on campus, Colorado Democratic Rep. Joe Salazar argued that call boxes and whistles were sufficient enough to protect women from rape. Revealing Politics grabbed the video:

"There are some gender inequities on college campuses, this is true and universities have been faced with that situation for a long time. It's why we have call boxes, it’s why we have safe zones, that's why we have the whistles. Because you just don’t know who you’re gonna be shooting at. And you don’t know if you feel like you’re gonna be raped, or if you feel like someone’s been following you around or if you feel like you’re in trouble and when you may actually not be, that you pop out that gun and you pop — pop a round at somebody.”

That's right ladies, this democratic man knows better than you when it comes to how you feel about maybe getting raped. You don't really know how you feel about that creep following you home after class and don't worry, a call box will save you. Also, the potential rapist will totally respect that you're in a "safe-zone" and leave you alone.

But Salazar's comments aren't far off the mark when it comes to liberal self defense policies on college campuses in Colorado. The University of Colorado-Colorado Springs has a similar policy for avoiding rape:

These tips are designed to help you protect yourself on campus, in town, at your home, or while you travel. These are preventative tips and are designed to instruct you in crime prevention tactics.

Be realistic about your ability to protect yourself.
Your instinct may be to scream, go ahead! It may startle your attacker and give you an opportunity to run away.
Kick off your shoes if you have time and can't run in them.
Don't take time to look back; just get away.
If your life is in danger, passive resistance may be your best defense.
Tell your attacker that you have a disease or are menstruating.
Vomiting or urinating may also convince the attacker to leave you alone.
Yelling, hitting or biting may give you a chance to escape, do it!
Understand that some actions on your part might lead to more harm.
Remember, every emergency situation is different. Only you can decide which action is most appropriate.

Yes, you read that correctly. The university recommends women tell attackers they have a disease, are menstruating, to scream, bite, hit, run away or allow rape to occur through "passive resistance." You know what action would be "most appropriate" instead of these ridiculous and unrealistic responses? Pulling out a .38 Special, .22 Magnum, 9mm or other handgun. No bodily functions necessary, only a steady hand.

Salazar offered a bogus, sorry "if" apology for his ignorance to a local television station.

“I’m sorry if I offended anyone. That was absolutely not my intention,” Salazar said. “We were having a public policy debate on whether or not guns makes people safer on campus. I don’t believe they do. That was the point I was trying to make. If anyone thinks I’m not sensitive to the dangers women face, they’re wrong."

Meanwhile, another Democratic Rep. said yesterday ballpoint pens should be used to defend against a madman with a gun.

Waiting for the liberals and the rest of the democrat party to express the same outrage they showed for the ignorant statements of Todd Akin in the Missouri Senate race. I', certain the unbiased liberal media who make up the majority of the "Ministry of Truth" will be anxious to show their non biased nature, but please don't hold your breath.

To be a self-identified Democrat these days you must have some of these traits:

1) Authority issues - Stems from “Why don’t you love me Daddy?”. The government is ‘big brother’ paranoia. ‘You can’t tell me to say the Pledge of Allegiance”, etc. The government is “censoring me”.

2) Intelligence issues - Liberals argue based on emotion rather than logic or reason. When corned in debate, they automatically attack the messenger or ignore the facts when confronted with reality.

3) Hatred issues - many liberals Hate — with a capital H. They hate the USA, they hate the military, they hate corporations - you know ... the things that made America into the most free, most successful country on Earth.

4) Faith issues - many Democrats don’t believe in God. They view religious people as hicks with a mythology fixation. If you don’t believe in God then there is no consequence for your actions.

5) Moral Relevance issues - Hey, you don’t question my perverse lifestyle and I won’t question yours. They believe the USA is ‘occupier’, an ‘empire’, and equate our troops as terrorists and terrorists as ‘freedom fighters’.

6) Racial Issues- Democrats tend to be racists. They believe that minorities NEED their help and incapable of bettering themselves without public assistance. They then take minority groups for granted in elections by demanding party loyalty for the trillions in public welfare programs they lavished on them over the past 4 decades.

7) Lastly, and most sadly; Democrats only provide criticism and not solutions to issues affecting Americans.

When was the last time the Republicans offered solutions instead of criticism concerning issues affecting Americans? Unemployment? National Security? Health Care? How to pay for it all?
Democrats are far from perfect and they do not have really good answers, but I do not see the other side coming up with bright ideas. As long as the Republicans just say "no", no progress will be made.

Republicans are only marginally better than RATs however if there were no opposition to democRATs we would be living in Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union. We are extremely close under Obama and his extreme left administration as it is.

Addition to #4, They don't believe in GOD, but will believe in anything our enemies believe in. They have enemy envy as well as penis envy. After all, democrat women are men and men are women.

Why is it that guys like lightdude believe a gun solves all problems? Thousands of women running around with guns in their hand bags, how will that increase security? Every time a woman empties her bag to find her lipstick or whatever, you run the risk of being accidentally shot by a dropped gun, or what?
Thousands of women with guns means guys will have to have guns as well, mostly bigger ones. A quarrel over a parking ticket will end in gun fights. Great idea!

Rape is a problem, so is molesting, child abuse and lots of other crimes. Arming every American can not be the solution.
