nytimes.com — As soon as I started covering Barack Obama, I knew he was going to be trouble.

Not Global Trouble, like W. and Dick Cheney. Or Hanky-Panky Trouble, like Bill Clinton and John Edwards. Or Tedious Trouble, like John Kerry and Michael Dukakis.

He was going to be the kind of guy who whipped you up and then, when you were all excited, left you flat, and then, when you were deflated and exasperated and time was running out, ensorcelled you again with some sparkly fairy dust.

The white racist kkk party should be very embarrased no matter if you agree/disagree with the president.

Shows the true colors as if the whole world does not already know that the republican party is an embarrassment to society as a whole.

It depends on how you look at it. To try to get support to pass it, it is a mistake b/c he's just saying, "trust me", but no specifics. He did not specify what he considers "waste" in Medicare. For those of us opposed, it's not a mistake b/c it helps keep it from getting support. Of course he won't gain support without specifying. He spoke for so long but it was all, "let me try to make you feel better about supporting this, trust me". I think he could have spoken about many specifics in the 45 minute speech. I guess this means he doesn't have the specifics to convince people, or he thinks most Americans won't understand which should be taken as an insult.
