Attacking gun dealersNo image available

townhall.com — ATF Agent Dodson, one of the first whistleblowers to come out publicly against Operation Fast and Furious, provided details about the failed operation.
"I was involved in this operation, we monitored as they purchased hand guns, AK-47 variants, and .50 caliber rifles almost daily. Rather than contradict any enforcement actions, we took notes, we recorded observations, we tracked movements of these individuals for a short time after their purchases, but nothing more. Knowing all the while, just days after these purchases, the guns that we saw these individuals buy would begin turning up at crime scenes in the United States and Mexico, we still did nothing," Dodson said. "Allowing loads of weapons that we knew to be destined for criminals, this was the plan. It was so mandated."
Emails also show that ATF encouraged gun dealers to sell to straw buyers, in spite of their own hesitance to do so.
Forcelli also added that while the ATF was ordering gun dealers to sell to straw buyers under surveillance, gun dealers were taking the heat for it, and being held responsible for violence in Mexico. He stressed gun dealers were not the problem. In fact gun dealers were helpful in pursuing cases against cartel members, making it blatantly clear law abiding gun owners are not at fault, but the government is.

Take a look at this link and see if you still want to vote "NO"

People who never should own a gun can get one all too easily. Watch Bowling for Columbine by M. More and tell me how to avoid the over 11000 deaths/year associated with gun violence.

jmrkaa, basedon your statistic, cars should be banned because they kill over 50,000 Americans per year. Hospitals do in 100,000 each year with screwups. So let's ban hospitals and that means we wouldn't need Obamacare, Medicare and Medicaid since all the hospitals would be closed anyway.

Remember the Chicago mayor who stated that you never want to waste a crisis to push liberal agendas. Just one more step in erasing our freedoms guaranteed by the U. S. Constitution. Obama and his czars at work doing what they seem to do best.

jmrkaa, why would anyone watch a 'movie' directed by the fat slob from Michigan? You must be extremely naive?

945call, why make so drastic comparisons that, in fact, don't really offer a constructive solution to the problem itself? No, I'm asking whether or not it would make sense to install gun regulation laws as well as make sure that incompetent/ temporarily incompetent drivers don't get the chance to hit the road? Competence of doctors can be regulated - as well as treatment protocols in hospitals. I'm for common sense solutions that could potentially safeguard a lot of people.

Legal gun owners are NOT the problem except in the small minded fools that follow the liberal line. The Left always attacks:

1) the family
2) the church
3) gun ownership

The Left wants you isolated and defensless!

Legal gun owners are part of the problem if they advocate such things as Gun Show exceptions and large capacity clips. There is no excuse to have Gun Show exceptions, not to have a 3-7 day waiting list and max clips at around 10.

There is no such thing as a gun show exception. If I have a FFL (Federal Firearms License) I must do the paper work to sell a gun be it gun show or store or whatever. As a private citizen I can (in most cases) sell a gun to anyone I want too. Gun Show is just a Lib bullshit catch phrase. What's the differance if I have 10 or twenty round mags? If I have 10 round mags I'll just carry two of them. It takes about three seconds to change mags. A waiting period is just pure idioticy that all but a few NE states have done away with. What a load of crap!

Arrow just demonstrated that he is part of the gun violence problem in the US. Its been proven that persons who should not be allowed to buy a gun are freely able to buy a gun at gun shows. Should be anyone who buys or sells a gun without conducting a background check should be given a life time no parole sentence. (Gun show or private sale) Lawful gun owners should welcome this since only unlawful individuals would be effected. If Laughner only had 10 round clips, only 10 rounds would have gone off. People tackled him when he went to reload. Just think if he had to reload at 10. The little girl would not have been killed. (she was hit by bullet 11-32)

Would you be so kind as to give us some of that "it has been proven"? I would ike to see something other than thinkprogressive.org, huffingtonpost, NY Times ect. ect..
Having a gun is not being part of the problem that only the Left sees. The problem is the idea that all guns are bad and gun owners are even worse. If more people had guns and were free to carry them, we would have less crime.

Too easy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baPgr_tw79Q

I did not say all guns and all gun owners are bad. Those that believe it is ok to sell a gun to anybody is part of the problem and bad news. Anybody who commits a crime with a gun should be locked up and no parole. Ever. That does not effect lawful gun owners.

Your "lock up with no parole" will upset the ACLU and other Liberals. In addition, Democrats will lose the felon vote that is so important to them. Don't forget the court ordered CA to let lose thousands just a few wqeek ago. Considering the Liberal Democrats record on crime, a gun wiyh a hi-cap clip is a good idea.

Lobotomydon has just demonstrated that he is part of the liberal/progressive problem in America. Part of the "big government just wants to help make us safe so lets surrender our last rights to them " crowd. God save us from these cowards and fools!

Name calling occurs when you lose the issue on facts. So a coward is one who wants those who commit crimes with guns to be locked up for life..?? Nothing I have said or advocated is geared towards legal law abiding gun owners.

Big government, Dems, liberals, progressives...take away your rights. I am sure you do not put Obama in any of these since under Obama, gun rights have been extended. And that is also with Dem controlled house and senate (pre 2010 elections)

democRAT politicians will do anything and say anything to buy votes and protect their 'jobs'! Why do you think that they pretend to care about the 2nd amendment and the rest of the Constitution. Obama, protector of gun rights? Don't make me laugh. Lobotomydons, which University do you indoctrinate at?

What is it with conservatives and gun-ownership? I don't really get it. Yes, there is a passage in the constitution that can be interpreted as the right of a private citizen to own guns, but it can be interpreted otherwise as well.

A gun makes violence easier and nobody is saver for that. The other day in my city, a 64-year old men shot his 42-year-old wife and then committed suicide with his gun, leaving his teenage son of a previous marriage and their 2-year-old daughter orphans. Great... He was in treatment for mental problems and presumably, his wife was thinking about divorcing him.
Granted, he could have killed her in a million different ways, but gun was the easiest option for him.

"If more people had guns and were free to carry them, we would have less crime."

Yeah, I guess so, because much more people would be dead, right? I just imagine some slightly paranoid old lady with a gun in her handbag feeling threatened by a bunch of school kids. Or a pick-pocket who carries a gun to protect himself from angry victims. Or teenage girls with stylish handguns in their bags, given to them by their parents, just in case... Black people who carry a gun in order to defend themselves if the guy who they ask for directions to the next mall feels threatened and pulls a gun on them.

There are a lot of weird people out there, both on the Republican and the Democrats side, even more in between. Do you really want all of them carrying guns with no regulations?

Under existing law, "private sellers" at gun shows do not have to run background checks before they sell a gun.

Under "existing law" the provisions limiting gun magazines to ten bullets do not apply to those manufactured before the law was passed.

No "sportsman" uses weapons that kill twenty deer - or twenty people - in less than twenty seconds.

No "marksman" uses bullets designed to tear human flesh to shreds.

No act of self-defense requires a gun designed for acts of war.

No license to hunt deer rests on the license to hunt down and kill women and children.

No freedom in our Bill of Rights frees criminals and terrorists to turn those rights against us.

Under "existing law" criminals are prohibited from buying guns. But forty percent of gun purchases made are through private sellers - often at gun shows - whom "existing law" does not require a background check to see if the buyer is prohibited.

Under "existing law" Congress has failed to allocate sufficent money to most jurisdictions to enter domestic violence convictions into a computer.

In theory "existing law" prevents licensed dealers from selling to those convicted of felonies or violent misdomeanors, spousal abuse, drug offences, and the adjudicated menatally ill.

Under "existing law" half the states have entered less than sixty percent of all criminal convictions into their computer systems.

Under "existing law" thirteen states have never recorded a single domestic violence restraining order.

Under "existing law" almost NO state has automated records of those incarcerated for mental illness.

Under "existing law" illegal aliens - including Islamic terrorists - can and have bought weapons to use against us.

And even though alcohol is the leading cause of gun homicides, under "existing law" even those convicted of multiple DUIs are allowed to buy a weapon.

All of us know that every assassination of an American President was committed with a gun.

What most people do not know is that since the day JFK was assassinated with a gun more Americans have died from gunshot wounds than have died in all the wars of the 20th century, the bloodiest 100 years in WORLD history....and all from gun violence in the USA.

Day after day guns claim ten children, three women at the hands of husbands or intimate partners, eighty people in all.

Year after year, this terrible toll of death exceeds by at least ten times that of the next twenty-five industrialized nations combined.

What causes this? Are Americans less humane that the Japanese, or Australians, Canadians, or Swedes? Do we truly believe that the random slaughter of the innocent is part and parcel of the right to own a gun?

Apparently it is painfully obvious the Obama Admin. is desperate and will do anything, even sacrafice American lives to accomplish it's goals (Operation Fast & Furious). Eric Holder on up should be indicted for crimes against this nation.

If the present farce of an admin. was really interested in taking guns off the street, they would target all major gangs in the US (would be a good start!).

But that will never happen as the ACLU, MALDEF, NAACP, etc. would file tons of law suits to prevent enforcement against what only makes sense. There are plenty of left wing sites & blogs with people that actually believe Obama will use them as his private army along with their arms to enforce his orders should he be re-elected or even worse, the O admin becomes a monarchy. With America disarmed (2nd amendment supporters), the O admin is free to open all borders and worse lay a path for world government.

As for M.Moore, he's a pseudo communist who made a movie that ended with the Bolshevik anthem "The Internationale" . Moore has finally revealed himself as a proponent of the totalitarian political ideology that killed tens of millions in the twentieth century.
